BEST IN TOWN
Stained glass and stoneware.
2026
The sculpture 'Best in town' is made from stained glass and stoneware. The material has a symbolic connection to our social life in terms of the fragility of social hierarchies in society. Gossip can be a way of moving within these sometimes hidden structures. Climbing, using language as a stepping stool towards status or acceptance is common and often seen in the art world.

Presented at GOSSIP! Chapter 1, a group exhibition where 9 artists gave form to the many ways gossip can be manifested. Between a tool against power structures and as form of play and social bonding, the enduring appeal of gossiping lies in a very human paradox: the thrill of knowing and the fear of being known.
